Spent a day shooting at Lake Magadi, the southernmost lake in the Kenyan Rift Valley. It’s a an unearthly place – a soda lake amidst natural salt flats – just north of Tanzania’s Lake Natron. The alkaline waters are abound with wading birds, including flamingos. We tried submerging ourselves in the hot springs despite the boiling Masai desert climate, then made some images for Mikono: my friend Lea’s new line of weekender canvas bags. Kirumba modeled.
